From small, family-owned vineyards outside of Florence. This is a 100% Sangiovese, and hails from the rocky 'Vigna I Tulipani' vineyard, named for the hundreds of wild tulips that grow throughout the vineyard in early spring every year. Aged for 12 months in botti and another 12 months in bottle before release. Its demanding conditions yield an elegant yet balanced wine.
Notes of violets, red and fresh black fruit, and balm, with hints of licorice and graphite. On the palate, it is elegant, with broad tannins still youthful and chewy, revealing its aging potential.
