Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea

Jefferson’s Ocean is a pioneering “Aged at Sea®” bourbon by Jefferson’s, launched in 2015 by Trey Zoeller of Kentucky Artisan Distillery—barrels aged 6–7 years in Kentucky are then loaded onto ships crisscrossing oceans, leveraging constant motion, sea spray, and temperature swings to accelerate maturation. This unique process infuses the bourbon with maritime influence—salt air, brine, equatorial humidity—and creates a darker, richer spirit with intensified caramelization and oak interaction.

On the nose, expect crème brûlée, sweet tobacco, and sea spray; the palate offers lush caramel, light brown sugar, cinnamon, espresso, and a distinct sea-salt edge. The long finish is smooth and coating, echoing Cracker Jack sweetness, warming spice, and that signature briny essence—an adventurous yet balanced sip that captures the sea’s voyage in every glass.
