Cardamaro Vino Amaro
Cardamaro Vino Amaro is a vino amaro produced by the Bosca family in Canelli d’Asti, Piedmont—an 8th-generation winemaker lineage—with the original recipe developed in the 1950s by herbalist Rachele Torlasco Bosca, inspired by the locally prized cardoon thistle. Infused with Nizza Monferrato cardoon and blessed thistle along with 23 additional botanicals in estate wine, then rested in new oak vats for at least six months, Cardamaro offers a balanced layer of herbal complexity.
On the nose, expect warm spice, dried figs, raisins, soft pine, a touch of clary sage and licorice, with a gentle floral-citrus lift. The palate delivers silky caramelized brown sugar, toasted nuts, vinegary grape sweetness, vegetal cardoon bitterness and mild quinine.
