Bruno Lupin Mondeuse 2024
Located in the alpine valley of the Les Usses river in Savoie, the Domaine Lupin estate in Frangy spans five hectares of south-facing hillside vineyards on the warm Les Aricoques slope. Bruno Lupin farms these mineral-rich molasses and limestone soils organically, using meticulous, low-intervention methods to craft distinctive mountain wines. While primarily famed for white Altesse, he also cultivates a tiny parcel of old-vine Mondeuse, which he ages in old DRC barrels before bottling.
The 2024 Bruno Lupin Mondeuse has dark red fruits and excellent Alpine verve. On the nose, ripe blackberry and cherry intertwine with red flowers and graphite. The palate is crisp, with lovely mountain herbs, wild berries, and black pepper. Mondeuse at it's most elegant.
