Marco Ferrari Rosso Di Valtellina 2022
Marco Ferrari began his winemaking journey in Franciacorta before honing his craft in France’s northern Rhône, where he worked with producers like Franck Balthazar and Thierry Allemand. He admired their low-intervention, whole-cluster techniques. In 2018, he returned to Italy to work at ArPePe in Valtellina, eventually acquiring small, steeply terraced plots in the Sassella and Inferno crus. By 2019, he launched his own estate, practicing organic viticulture and crafting Nebbiolo with wild yeast, minimal sulfur, and no fining or filtration.
Generous aromas of black cherry fruit and balsamic, with hints of alpine herbs and crushed dark minerals. On the palate, the stony brightness shines through textured fruit of satisfying density. A beautifully balanced Nebbiolo.
