Johan Vineyards Maceration Van Duzer Corridor 2023
A biodynamic, Demeter‑certified estate in Oregon’s Van Duzer Corridor AVA, where cool coastal winds and complex Missoula flood–derived soils produce expressive, high‑acidity wines rooted in place. “Maceration” is their annual orange/skin‑contact white blend—typically incorporating Grüner Veltliner, Kerner, and Friulano—fermented on skins for around 2–3 weeks in neutral vessels, then aged unfined and unfiltered to preserve texture and varietal character.
Expect aromatic notes of apricot blossom, honey‑crisp apple, white pepper, and jasmine, with a crisp, tannic structure and a saline, citrus‑tinged finish that’s both energetic and refined.
