Italicus Rosolio Bergamotto
Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto is a modern revival of Italy’s Renaissance-era rosolio—an aromatic aperitivo category—crafted by Giuseppe Gallo in 2016 and produced at historic Torino Distillati using Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian citron, chamomile, lavender, rose, gentian, and other botanicals, bottled at 20% ABV . Gallo adapted a family recipe rooted in a 19th‑century Rosolio di Torino, employing a delicate cold-infusion (“sfumatura”) process to extract essential oils for a citrus-herbal complexity.
The nose is fragrant with radiant bergamot and lemon zest, soft floral notes of rose and lavender, and gentle herbal spice, leading to a palate that layers luscious ripe citrus, light bitter herbal tones, and subtle floral-spice warmth. It concludes with a long, refreshing finish—bright, bittersweet, and lightly botanical—making it a versatile star in spritzes (try equal parts Italicus + sparkling wine), Negroni Bianco, Gin & Italicus Sour, or simply served neat or over ice.
