Amaro Camatti
Amaro Camatti is a beloved Ligurian amaro created in Genoa in 1924 by chemist Umberto Briganti—who named it after his wife’s maiden name—and today is crafted by Sangallo Distillery following his original family recipe. This cordial-style amaro is made by infusing local flowers, roots, almonds, bitter orange, mint, cinchona, and gentian in grain alcohol, followed by maceration, barrel resting, and light sweetening to 20% ABV.
On the nose, it greets with mint, almond, earthy roots, and citrus blossom, segueing into palate layers of spicy cola, black cherry, ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla. The finish is elegantly bittersweet and lingering, framed by gentian-driven dryness and refreshing mint.
