Yellow Chartreuse
Created in 1840 by Carthusian monks at the Grande Chartreuse monastery in the French Alps as a softer, sweeter alternative to Green Chartreuse, it’s made according to their secret recipe of 130 botanicals and bottled at 43 % ABV . Distilled using a grape spirit base and matured in truncated oak vats, its golden hue comes naturally from saffron.
On the nose and palate, it’s pleasantly floral and honeyed, with bright citrus, saffron, turmeric, minty anise, and subtle spice—rich yet remarkably smooth and softer than its green sibling. The finish lingers gently with herbal sweetness.
