Vinca Minor Red 2024
Vinca Minor is a small Sonoma-based winery founded in 2013 by photojournalist-turned-winemaker Jason Charles. Drawing on experience in Napa, Bordeaux (Pomerol), and the NYC restaurant industry, Jason focuses on old-vine, coastal-influenced vineyards from Sonoma Valley to Mendocino. The winery is known for producing expressive, low-alcohol wines with minimal intervention, including old-vine field blends.
This wine is a vibrant organic field blend sourced primarily from historic Carignan and Zinfandel vines at Hawkeye Ranch in Redwood Valley, Mendocino planted in the early 1990s. The fruit was destemmed and fermented in open-top tanks, then aged for eight months in stainless steel and bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving freshness, purity, and a true sense of place. These are wines with a clear voice crafted for the table.
Deep, dark and savory with notes of blackberry, sage, and violets. The perfect BBQ wine served slightly chilled.
