One of the benchmark wines in Italy’s skin-contact white wine movement, Arboreus comes from ancient Trebbiano Spoletino vines in Spoleto that climb and wrap around trees in a rare traditional training method. Three weeks of skin maceration and two years in tank give the wine remarkable texture, tannic structure and mineral depth while preserving vibrant acidity and balance.
The 2017 opens with layered notes of quince, dried apricot, elderflower and marzipan, unfolding into a broad yet chiseled palate with a long, savory finish. Great candidate for decanting.
