Michter's Toasted Barrel Finish Sour Mash
Michter’s, honoring America’s first whiskey company, takes their US*1 Kentucky Straight Sour Mash and lays it in a second toasted (not charred) barrel made from 18-month air-dried oak—bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV) as a limited-fill finish of their base whiskey.
The result opens with inviting aromas of toffee, buttery vanilla, milk chocolate, honey, and a flicker of orange peel, quickly evolving into warm cinnamon-spice in a creamy, dessert-like presentation. The palate remains sweet and layered, featuring crème brûlée, red cherry, raisin, floral and minty lift, all thoughtfully rounded by toasted oak and soft nutmeg notes. The finish is gentle and accessible with lingering oak spice and dessert-cake warmth
