Michter’s barrel-strength rye is part of their single-barrel US*1 series, batch-distilled in Kentucky and bottled uncut between roughly 107–115 proof (53.7–57.6 % ABV) from barrels entered at a lower-than-average 103 proof—an old-school approach that amplifies oak integration and mouthfeel.
Aromatically, it bursts with bold baking spices—think cinnamon, clove, rye-bread warmth—alongside vanilla, brown sugar, cherry, molasses, and a creamy caramel coating with toasty oak . The palate is full-bodied and structured: spicy pepper, burnt orange peel, toasted rye, date-fig fruit, walnut, mint, and dark chocolate combine in a complex, chewy profile. The finish stays long and drying—oak-forward with lingering sweet-spice warmth.
