Leberon Armagnac Solera 2001
Château de Léberon Solera 2001 is an innovative perpetual solera Armagnac created by the Leberon family in Gascogne, France, using their estate-grown Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Baco, and Folle Blanche grapes, with the solera barrel first filled in 2001 and topped up annually with three-year-old brandy. The method yields a beautifully balanced blend of youthful brightness with mature complexity, as only up to 10% is bottled each year from the solera and replaced with younger spirit.
On the nose it offers apricot, quince, orange marmalade, fir honey, pine needles, and forest-floor herbal notes. The palate is smooth yet vividly flavorful—dried fruit, chamomile, oatmeal-raisin cookie, white pepper, sea salt, and spice—finishing medium-long with clean oak tannins and warming depth, making it a captivating and versatile solera-aged Armagnac.
