Sicily continues to reveal some of Italy's most compelling new voices, and Giuseppe Cipolla is one to watch. From his family's organically farmed vineyards in Contrada Passofonduto, near Agrigento, he works with native varieties rooted in ancient gypsum-rich soils, crafting wines of remarkable clarity, energy, and quiet depth.
Passofonduto is his flagship red, a blend of 90% Nero d'Avola and 10% Nerello Mascalese from young alberello-trained vines. The grapes are destemmed, lightly crushed, and macerated for six days.
Dark berries, wild herbs, and savory mineral notes unfold over silky tannins, capturing the warmth and rugged beauty of Sicily with elegance and precision.
