Caol Ila 12 is the flagship single malt from Islay’s largest distillery, founded in 1846 and long respected for its elegant, smoky whiskies. Aged in ex-bourbon casks, it offers a more delicate and approachable expression of Islay peat compared to its southern neighbors.
The nose opens with coastal brine, light medicinal smoke, and citrus peel, while the palate reveals soft peat, lemon, black tea, malt, and a touch of dried herbs. The finish is long and balanced—gently smoky, subtly sweet, and faintly ashy.
