Braulio Amaro
Braulio Amaro is a revered Alpine-style amaro originally crafted by pharmacist Francesco Peloni in Bormio, Italy, dating back to 1875, and remains produced in Bormio using herbs from the Braulio Valley before bottling under Campari ownership . It's made from a secret blend of around 12–15 botanicals—confirmed to include gentian, wormwood, yarrow, and juniper—infused cold, sweetened, and aged for two years in Slavonian oak barrels to yield its signature mahogany hue.
On the nose and palate, you'll experience cooling pine and mint, herbal rootiness, caramel-toned wood, clove, liquorice, cola, and gently spiced undertones. The finish is long, bittersweet, and soothing—marked by persistent root bitterness and a crisp herbaceous chill—making it a refreshing digestif neat, chilled, or soda-mixed, and a cornerstone in Alpine-inspired cocktails.
