Bodiga Centum Herbis
Centum Herbis—a Latin name meaning “one hundred herbs”—is an alpine-style herbal liqueur first crafted in 1888 by Bordiga, the distinguished Piedmontese vermouth and spirits house. Produced using over a century-old artisanal method, each botanical (including mint, thyme, eucalyptus, wild juniper, quassia bark, gentian, cinchona, and linden) is macerated separately for 20–50 days, rested, then sweetened and bottled at a modest 28% ABV.
On the nose, it evokes a verdant mountain garden with fresh mint, thyme, green grass, cooling eucalyptus, and subtle wild floral notes; the palate follows suit, delivering an elegant blend of herbal bouquet, gentle menthol freshness, and earthy roots. The finish is delightfully balanced—mildly bitter yet bright, cleaning the palate with lingering herbal clarity reminiscent of Chartreuse, making it a refined digestif or unexpected cocktail substitute.
