Blanton's Bourbon
Blanton’s Bourbon, introduced in 1984 by Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee at Buffalo Trace Distillery, holds the distinction of the world’s first commercially sold single‑barrel bourbon—named after Colonel Albert B. Blanton, a longtime distillery president whose precise barrel selection inspired the release. It’s crafted from Buffalo Trace’s “Mash Bill #2” and aged in the center-cut barrels of the unique metal‑clad Warehouse H in Kentucky, which amplifies seasonal temperature swings and accelerates flavor development.
On the nose, expect creamy vanilla intertwined with caramel, honeyed citrus, and warm baking spices like clove and nutmeg. The palate delivers a harmonious, medium‑long finish of sweet corn, toasted oak, dried fruit, and gentle spice, finishing smooth with light dark‑chocolate and leather notes that linger in a classy, refined warmth.
