The 2017 Benevelli Dolcetto d'Alba 'La Costa' is crafted from vines planted in 1986 in the Monforte d'Alba commune of Piedmont, Italy. The estate follows traditional, organic-leaning viticulture. Winemaking focuses on purity of fruit, featuring spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel, a 7-day maceration with délestage, and brief aging in stainless steel and bottle.
A bold Dolcetto that encompasses what enthusiasts love about the wines of the Piedmont. On the nose, there are violets, garden soil, and beautiful spiced cherry. On the palate there is savory red fruit, with charming herbal tones and a crispy, mineral core. The finish is long, thanks to the wines immaculate structural build.
