Dalmore distillery, founded in 1839 in Scotland’s Highlands and now overseen by master blender Richard Paterson, matured this 18-year expression in American oak for 14 years before finishing it for four years in rare, 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks—an approach that defines the house style.
On the nose, expect luxurious vanilla, dark chocolate, English marmalade, and sweet liquorice over a foundation of orange zest and cinnamon. The palate is rich and velvety, delivering chocolate-dipped raisins, juicy citrus fruits, coffee, nutmeg, and warm spice. It concludes with a long, warming finish of stewed fruits, toffee, and a hint of molasses
